Biography

Cameron Diaz was raised in Long Beach, California with her
Cuban-American father who was a foreman and mother who was a
broker. Her mother was the result of German, Native American and
English heritage. As a kid Cameron was very wild and loved
partying.. "I was a tough kid with the jeans, the concert shirt with the
flannel over it, the comb in the back pocket and the feathered hair."
Cameron loved heavy metal music and her mother even took her to
her first heavy metal concert.

At the tender age of 16 she landed her first modeling job. This
modeling job helped her land the roll in "The Mask" at age age 19.
She achieved stardom status with her entrance and her line"excuse
me, where I can open an account?." Cameron wanted to prove that
she was not just another pretty face trying to get into the acting by
playing a part in the low budget film, "The Last Supper." This film was
also a success, like most of her films since. "I did the Last Supper
simply to get the oppurtunity with other actors, I had never had any
other expierience of acting other than The Mask".

The "Feeling Minnesota" script did not catch Cameron's attention
from the beginning. She waited until the very last minute to read the
script. Luckily for her, her lazy attitude worked and she was given the
role, opposite Keanu Reeves, ahead of 70 other actresses. This role
was yet another oppurtunity for Cameron to show off her wonderful
acting skills and prove to everybody that she wasn't another model
trying to attain the Hollywood status because of her looks.

Cameron was last year voted 3rd in the FHM 'Sexiest Woman Alive'
award. However she does not want ot be known as just a sex
symbol. Cameron has time and time again turned down roles that only
want her for her pretty face and has instead gone for the more difficult
roles. Ironically, the two films that helped launch her career even
more, "My Best Friends Wedding" and "A Life Less Ordinary," are
both romantic comedies. Her latest venture, "There's something about
Mary", is perhaps her best and most revealing performance yet,
allowing her to expand and really show her talent more than any other
film she has done.
